RE: Proposed World Service Corps Bills/Resolutions

Dear Congressman Farr,

As a fellow Peace Corps volunteer, I hope you will co-sponsor both proposed World Service Corps resolutions faxed herein. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee and nine-time California Legislator of the Year, you are needed to make this happen in today’s divided political climate.

The WSC proposals call for all Americans aged 18-26 to do national service in their choice of Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Head Start, Doctors Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity, and the Red Cross. Both the one year service proposal and the two year volunteer proposal, which provides funding for community and state college tuition, use progressive funding proposals to induce those who pay no or meager taxes to help support the WSC effort to stem the spread of fundamental ignorance and terror. On March 23^rd I met with supportive Congresswoman Woolsey who stated that it “fits perfectly with my progressive ideals.” She did, however, wonder if you had not introduced something similar. Have you?

Regardless, I hope you will also co-sponsor these WSC proposals. The more such needed ideas are introduced and discussed, the more likely it is that America can reduce its reliance on costly and bloody warfare and raise it political and economic IQ.
